Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Nigeria Following Tragic Road Accident

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, Nigerian authorities stated on late Wednesday. The fighter was involved in a car accident outside Lagos on December 29th, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.

Healing from Light Wounds

Joshua had remained in the hospital while recovering from minor injuries, representatives stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.

“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two friends who passed away as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.

Honoring the Deceased

Those who lost their lives were named as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two close friends.”

The news of his discharge arrives after the boxing community had expressed condolences for the star in the wake of the heartbreaking incident.
